My name is Jens Thorvinger, an experienced embedded system developer
from the beautiful south Sweden. I am currently working for
Altran Technologies helping Ericsson Mobile Platforms in Taiwan in supporting their customer
develop mobile phones.
During the spring of 2006 I lived in
California where I studied
Project Management at the UC
Berkeley in order to extend my knowledge in building and
managing teams. Before I came to Berkeley I worked with research and
development at Aditus
Science, specialized in the development of high performance
medical equipment.
Aditus
Science has been my employer both before and after I finished
my Master of Science in Computer
Engineering at Lund
Institute of Technology, in June 2004. My projects at Aditus
were development of analog and digital hardware, programming
microprocessors, DSPs, and FPGAs, and also to develop supportive
software. The medical devices developed were mainly
for measuring, signal processing, and analyzing biological
processes with electrical methods.
Since I am working for a consultant company, I interact directly with
the customer and help them with their problems. The
job require much responsibility from me for planning, time
estimations, contact with customers and other employees.
My Master Thesis was the
development of a dynamically reconfigurable computer system, which
support multiple threads running concurrently, all with hardware
support. A standard Xilinx FPGA was used to test the possibilities of
loading partially new hardware configurations while other parts of the
FPGA still were active.
Other things I have done is an exchange year at the University of
Darmstadt, Germany, a trip around the world in 2004, another
year abroad in Michigan, USA during High School, and much more which I
enjoy filling my life with. For a more comprehensive description of me,
open my Curriculum Vitae
above.
